they are used for entertainment, tourism, research, communication, correspondence, broadcast media

entertainment is like shows on ustream.tv (Website)

tourism is like the eiffel tower webcam or alamo webcam

research is when people use it to study wildlife (search wildlife webcam)

communication is when people for the same organization communicate across vast distances. (video conferencing, etc)

correspondence is like a soldier in iraq talking to his boy or wife.

broadcast media...thats like when big brother on CBS or the news on CNN broadcast their video to the web.

unethical uses would be spying on people without them knowing.

security concerns would be people accessing your personal cam/mic without your permission.
