English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the departure of assistant coaches Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan.
The departure of manager Harry Redknapp seems to have brought about more changes than the hierarchy at White Hart Lane expected. Bond and Jordan have left the London side, which means an entirely new management team will have to be brought in before the
start of the new season.
It is still not yet certain if Bond and Jordan were let go or if they resigned. The club released a statement on their official website confirming the news of the departure of the two assistant coaches, but failed to mention the reason for their sudden exit.
The statement read:
“We can now formally confirm that Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan have left the club following Harry Redknapp's departure as manager.”
Both Bond and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-c2929 were an essential part of Harry Redknapp’s back room staff, even taking charge when the English manager was recovering from heart surgery late last year and were involved in the 65-year-old’s court case earlier this year.
The only member of Harry Redknapp’s back room staff who currently remains at White Hart Lane is Tim Sherwood, the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder. It is believed the Spurs are close to reaching a deal with former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 boss Andre Villas-Boas.
The young Portuguese manager was sacked by the Blues in March after a string of poor results and was replaced by his assistant manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo. He has remained unemployed since then, but now seems to be considering taking up the manager’s post
at Tottenham Hotspur.
He is expected to bring in his own team, which is why it is believed that Harry Redknapp’s staff was made to leave the club. The Spurs thanked the pair for their contribution to the club since their appointment in 2008, along with Harry Redknapp.
The club’s statement continued:
“Kevin and Joe joined after Harry's appointment in 2008.
We should like to thank them for their contribution and achievements during their time at the Club and wish them all the best for the future.”
