  1. I have a B.A. in Psychology and I have held various jobs in Marketing, Hotel Purchasing and Project Management, but my degree had nothing to do with it!  Currently I'm employed as a Family Advocate with a school district.

I'd recommend going on for at least a B.A. and if you really enjoy psychology, get an advanced degree in counseling or social work.

  2. Nothing in psychology.  You would have to have a masters at least for that.

You might be able to get on as a welfare caseworker or something like that, but your lack of education would be career-limiting.

  3. Honestly, I have a bachelors degree in it and it is hard for me to get a job.  You really need a masters to do anything worthwhile.  Anything else will be low pay and high stress (and probably will be that even with a masters).

  4. A masters degree is really necessary to have a career in psychology. Associate degrees in general are fairly useless, but they might give you an edge over someone who doesn't have one in a job (like a management position in a store or something). I'm a psych major, too, and it's going to be tons of school, but I'm going to stick it through-- when you have the education it is a very good (and profitable) career path.

So, to answer your question, you probably could not get a job in psychology, unless you are interested in working with mentally retarded children-- there are a lot of places looking for assistants in that area, and you could probably find something if you checked around!
