Tottenham Hotspur defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto has revealed his surprise at the sacking of former manager Harry Redknapp after last season, despite the fact that he helped the club finish fourth again.
Redknapp was responsible for guiding the club to their first ever Premier League campaign two seasons ago, and brought in a number of star players to White Hart Lane while he was in charge of the side.

Villas-Boas is still waiting for his first competitive win as Spurs manager after failing to win the first two Premier League games. Tottenham lost to Newcastle at the Sports Direct Arena in a 2-1 score line and then went on to draw their first home game
of the season 1-1 against West Brom.
The team was booed off by many Spurs fans at White Hart Lane on Saturday, and Villas-Boas looked defeated, despite earning a point from the game. Assou-Ekotto had scored the opening goal of the game, but West Brom were resilient and tenacious and kept on
knocking at the doors for the equalizer.
The Baggies scored the goal in the dying minutes of the game, and it had been long coming. Spurs looked a shadow of the team that played under Redknapp last season. West Brom earned a valuable point, and Villas-Boas is still in search of his first three
points as manager.
