  1. I'll be respected because I won't need any of that fancy pryro bullshit because I'll come in kick *** then go to the next city.

  2. Popularity only last until the writers run out of ideas....

  3. i would rather be respected, where does popularity get you in life? it gets the **** kicked out of you!

  4. I WOULD LOVE TO BE RESPECTED BY MY PEERS, BUT HATED BY THE FANS, BECAUSE I WOULD BE A ******* a*****e HEEL

  5. Popularity.  I don't see the hierarchy in either criteria, considering respect is a type of popularity, and popularity is a type of respect.  I've never really cared what my peers thought of me, so I'd have no problem with having beef in a locker room for being over without "paying my dues" as some would claim.  Even though popularity is brief in wrestling, I believe that the popular outweigh the respected when it comes to big names in the business.  Few people know who Killer Kowalski, Harley Race, or Lou Thesz were, they couldn't pick them out of a lineup of legends.  They just hear their names tossed around on commentary when someone hits a Thesz press, or does a stomach claw, or hits a high knee. but everyone knows what Hulk Hogan looks like.  They probably couldn't tell you his top five best matches, but they've seen him slam Andre the Giant.

I'm not saying it's right that these guys don't get the respect or adoration they deserve for being tough SOB's, I'm just saying, outside of the boys in the back, I doubt many will remember these men in 10 years.  A lot of their names are starting to fade as it is.  I'd rather be remembered for putting on a show and breaking my body, even if it appeared to my peers that I took the easy way out a lot of times.  It's a selfish idea, I know, but if the choices are be selfless or selfish, I'll be selfish any day.

  6. respected.. 'coz if you're respected, then it means you're popular or you'll  eventually be well-known whereas you can be popular but not respected..

  7. I have thought about that alot and I say respected. And I would be true to the fans and pull a cheat here and there like Eddie Guerrero but being respected would make me popular, unlike other WWE Superstars.

  8. popular....whats worse is if u want to be respected but u get booed..like john cena

  9. While being popular is great, being respected is greater, and provides a legacy.  Being true to yourself and your gimmick is important.  So what if not everyone likes you?  If you bust your butt and do your best, they will HAVE to respect you.  Hoagie Man, for instance, will not conform and stop giving out hoagies to the masses.  That is what he has been born to do!  it is dedication to one's craft that matters.  Not a popularity contest.  The ones who DO like you when most don't are REAL fans.  To them go the hoagies!
