  1. From having watched Federer play lately, Djokovic will win, but I'd give 4 sets at least. Remember, Federer is defending his title here. Therefore he will fight hard, like he did at the Wimbledon 2008.

  2. No assuming since Nadal will be in the final and will be crowned the champion.

  3. I am also giving the edge to Novak. Federer is kind of in a slump right now. I still think that whoever wins will lose to Nadal in the finals. He is just too good.

  4. I'm also giving the edge to Novak. Maybe Roger could stick to doubles with Stanislas.

  5. i would like roger to win, but being objective, if fed plays the way he's been playing i think novak is gonna win.-

but novak won't get to the semis, cause andy will beat him in quarters!!!!

    ;)

  6. "Assuming" (as anything can happen to Roger these days, and I feel that probably the only safe bet in Men's tennis at the moment is Nadal!) tehy both make it...I would give the edge to Djokovic. It is very hard to decide without having seen them play any matches at the US Open, but Federer was defeated by James Blake in Beijing, and Djokovic made quick work of him in the bronze medal match. They will both be very determined, Federer to re-establish himself as the best in the business, and Nole to prove he's not just a One-Time-Grandslamer. I would give Djokovic the edge, because he just lost to Federer in last years final, and due to all the chances he had to take a set, I would put it down to nerves and lack of big-time experience. Now with the AO and the bronze in Beijing under his belt, I would just give him the edge - as no one can argue to the fact that Fed's game has deteriorated since last year's US Open.

Again, this is all assuming we ever get to see that match! It's a tough draw.

  7. novak in a 5th set tie breaker. federer's not gonna go down with out a fight but i just don't think that he's got the confidence or game to keep up with djokovic, but who knows maybe winning the doubles gold will boost his confidence. but roger CANNOT beat djokovic from the baseline, he has to come up to net as fast as possible or else novaks gonna kill feds backhand

  8. oh novak djovick no questions asked! i do not see federer having any chance of beating him.... federer is still slumping, and a agains't novak djovick who is playing really good these days and is on fire... federer will bow out to him..

sorry to paint such a bad picture for all the federer fans.. but i have predicted from the getgo. that this was a slamless year for federer...

  9. I think Djokovic will win. He lost to Federer last year, and he'll make sure that doesn't happen again. His hard court game's even better than it was last year, and I'm sure he'll make it to the finals to face Rafael Nadal. (fingers crossed)

Federer's out of form, and he's clearly had a really weak season. If he wants to win he'll have to get it all he's got. Djokovic's got a better chance of winning though.

  10. I'd say Nole, as he's beaten Federer on hard court before. And looking at Federer's form, it's not surprising.

  11. djokovic for sure

    7-6 5-7 6-4 6-3

  12. Novak would defeat him for sure. I think the score will be 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5. Pretty close, but the reason I'm giving Federer a set is because of how well he's performed in the grand slams this year except the French Open.

  13. Djokovic would win against Federer. I think it would be 7-6, 6-3, 6-4
