Asteroid Belt expected to shine in CEEJ Ltd Juvenile Hurdle
Asteroid Belt has got a solid chance of shining in the CEEJ Ltd Juvenile Hurdle at Musselburgh in England on Friday, November 30, 2012. He is the most experienced amongst all participants, when it comes to racing over hurdles, which will give him an edge at the end of the day.
Despite that, the young runner has been unable to impress the bookmakers much, as he has not been given the highest odds for a victory. He will be looking to deliver a top quality result in the class-4 contest in order to prove his critics wrong.
He will have to deal with good track conditions, as there has been some rain at the venue overnight. Luckily, the ground has not been affected badly, which will make the competition interesting.
A total of eight stallions will be combating over 2 miles and they will be aiming to bag a cash prize of £3,249 in the end.
Kashmir Peak seems to be a very good option for the punters to risk money, as he is in very good rhythm at the moment. Although, he lacks experience at this level, he has been rated quite highly by the bookmakers.
He will enter the contest with a starting price of 1 to 2, which means that he is expected to be dominant at the end of the day. It will not be easy for his opponents to prevent him from taking the top spot.
However, the three-year-old gelding might not like the track conditions at Musselburgh and his opponents could end up taking advantage of that.
The John Quinn’s trainee has participated in just one race over hurdles, winning it comfortably by nine lengths. Judging by that, he should not have a lot of problems in the race.
On the other hand, Asteroid Belt has represented his team in five hurdles, which means that he knows the correct technique to run in this format.
The Chris Grant’s trained gelding has managed to be victorious once, whereas finished as a runner up and in third place on the same number of times. He has been enjoying the company of jockey, Wilson Renwick, in recent times and the pair will once again be seen together at Musselburgh.
