I have really bad asthma, i recently ran out of medicine in my asthma inhaler, the ventolin. I'm wondering how to get an inhaler refill, it came in a box, do i have to take the box in to the pharmacy to get it refilled, do i have to just take the inhaler in and get it refilled, how does the refilling work?

  1. These days, it's likely the prescription's on file in the pharmacy's computer, but to be safe, take the box (it has the pharmacy's label on it).  They know what an inhaler looks like so taking it doesn't really get you anywhere.

  2. You'll get a new box with a new inhaler.  You can't reuse the inhalers.  The plastic part can get unusable after a while.  Just call the pharmacy and request a refill.

  3. You don't get a refill, you need a brand new one. Get another prescription.
