Aston Villa hosted Reading at Villa Park last night in a game that ended 1-0 to the home side. The Villans secured their second win in over 6 Premier League games, which lifts them up to 17th spot, 2 points adrift from the relegation zone.
Christian Benteke scored the only goal of an otherwise scrappy game which did not exactly have many talking points. Villa will however take the 3 points in whichever way they come as they look forward to a relatively easier week ahead.
The Clarets recently took on Manchester United, Manchester City and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314, who are currently at the bottom and without
a win so far.
Bradley Guzan – 9
The American shot stopper had little to do all night, but made a superb save to deny Robson-Kanu. Guzan looked calm whenever he was called to action, and did well to earn his side a clean sheet.

The centre back had a difficult time as he was outmuscled by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jason-Roberts-c17973 on several occasions. However, he dealt with the striker’s physical presence and had enjoyed lots of possession. He had a number of chances to score for Villa, but was unable to get
his name on the score sheet.
Enda Stevens – 6
The player looked promising at the start of the game and provided a couple of good crosses early on. However, he faded as the game wore on and was forced off the pitch with an injury in the 22nd minute.

The player had a very impressive game and looked dominant and threatening in the air. He kept Adam Le Fondre quiet and contained him superbly to round off an excellent performance.
Matthew Lowton – 8
The player also had trouble dealing with Jason Robert’s physicality, but otherwise had a solid game. He continues to impress in place of the injured http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ron-Vlaar-c31697.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brett-Holman-c8047 – 9
The Australian playmaker had an immense game and was involved in all of Villa’s attacks. He was all over the pitch and showcased his tremendous long range shooting. He was taken off in the second half after a very tireless and hard working performance.
Ashley Westwood – 6
The player paled in comparison with Bannan and Holman in midfield, and was hardly noticeable as the game wore on. All he did was provide a couple of decent crosses, and was otherwise very quiet.

The winger worked hard and had a busy night in the centre of the pitch. He delivered a couple of excellent crosses but had a difficult time keeping possession and finding key passes.

The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international captained the side in the absence of Ron Vlaar and showed a great deal of maturity and strength to lead his team to the 1-0 win. He created a lot of problems for the Reading defence and linked superbly with Benteke.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Benteke-c9056 – 9
The Belgian striker scored the only goal of the game and was a constant threat for the Reading back-four. He was industrious as ever and had a very good game. Benteke continues to keep http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Bent-c10358 on the bench through his immense performances.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andreas-Weimann-c5768 – 4
The player had an awful night and waster a glorious opportunity in the first half from only six yards out. His finishing and first touch let him down on more than one occasion and he was substituted for Albrighton in the second half.
