Aston Villa agree transfer fee with Wigan Athletic for Charles N’Zogbia – EPL News
Aston Villa have confirmed on their official website that they have agreed a transfer fee with Wigan Athletic for their want-away winger Charles N’Zogbia.
The Villans have been strongly linked with N’Zogbia for some time. Aston Villa manager McLeish sees the French international as a perfect player who can fill the void left by the Villan’s outgoing pair, Ashley Young and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stewart-Downing-c34221.
Aston Villa’s initial bid of £9 million for N’Zogbia was rejected by Wigan Athletic as the Latics chairman Dave Whelan was not willing to sell the club’s most prized asset for less than £10 million. However, it is believed that a transfer fee of £9.5 million
for Charles N’Zogbia is agreed between Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic.
Charles N’Zogbia is likely to be unveiled at Aston Villa in the next few days, though personal terms with the French winger are yet to be discussed. The Birmingham club are reportedly going to offer a five-year contract to N’Zogbia, who will undergo Aston
Villa’s medical test today.
A statement on Aston Villa’s official website reads, “The club are pleased to confirm that we have agreed a fee with Wigan for French international winger Charles N'Zogbia. We will now discuss personal terms with the player and arrange a medical, with a
view to completing the transfer later this week.”
Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish, who is currently on the club’s tour to Hong Kong, has also expressed his contentment over the possible signing of N’Zogbia and is hopeful that the French winger will agree personal terms with the Villans as soon as possible.
McLeish stated, “He is an exciting player and someone I've admired for quite a while. I'm pleased we've managed to agree a fee and hope we can reach agreement with Charles as soon as possible.”
N’Zogbia is set to become McLeish’s second signing at Aston Villa and the French international will also reunite with his former Newcastle United teammate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shay-Given-c33284, who was Villa’s first signing of the current transfer window.
