Although, the Dutchman failed to feature regularly for De Joden in the first couple of seasons, he managed to cement his place in the Amsterdam-based club’s playing XI half-way through the 2009/10 campaign.
Paul Lambert, the Villa head coach, had a busy summer, luring several players to Villa Park including the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Benteke-c9056 and Joseph Bennett.
However, it seems like that the former Norwich City boss’ signings were not enough, as his side still lacks firepower upfront.

net twice in three league games.
De Jong is a versatile attacking player, and can easily play in the attacking midfielder role as well as a central striker.
The Dutchman, who has thus far netted 53 goals in 168 appearances while donning the jersey of Ajax, has been performing consistently for the past three seasons, scoring 17, 16 and 17 goals respectively.
His consistent showings played an integral role in the Amsterdam giants’ back-to-back Eredivisie title winning campaigns.
Aston Villa boss is reportedly very pleased with the 23-year-old’s performances, and is keen to lure him away from Amsterdam Arena in the upcoming January transfer window.
De Jong has an ongoing contract that will keep him at De Joden until the summer of 2015. However, reports indicate that an offer in the region of eight million Euros would be enough to lure him to Villa Park.
