Aston Villa are in search of an additional striker till the end of the season, and they have set their sights on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kyle-Walker-c21566 for a loan move from Spurs for the rest of the season.
Gerard Houllier, the manager of Aston Villa, is believed to be close to completing the deal and is just a signature away from securing the front man’ s services till the end of the season. The 20 year old striker who is believed by many to have an abundance
of talent was away on loan to QPR for the first half of the season. He made his name while playing at Sheffield United before he was snapped up by Tottenham Hotspurs. However, due to the number of senior strikers in the team, chances in the first team have
been limited for the youngster.
Aston Villa may also be looking to get a right back on short term loan as their first choice player in that position, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luke-Young-c22938, is still suffering from knee problems.
For now, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eric-Lichaj-c12709 and Carlos Cuellar as right-backs, but by trade they are central defenders.
Gary Mcallister, the assistant manager at Villa, said that Young has been suffering from the knee problem for a while and he could no longer ignore it, so he had to be rested. He added that Villa’s medical team is working hard to get to the root of his knee
issues and would try to get him up and running as soon as possible.
The assistant manager added that the club is looking to different divisions to find a short term replacement, but thus far they have not been able to identify a candidate. Gary added that the club is also working hard in the academies and hoping that they
would be able to get a replacement from the reserves.
Meanwhile, Harry Redknapp, the manager of Tottenham Hotspurs, believes that Everton midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Pienaar-c34208, would be a great fit at Tottenham and an excellent deal as he would be a free transfer in the summers. The South African player is out of contract
at Goodison Park at the end of the current season, and no decision has been made regarding his future with Everton in the long run.
There were strong rumours that the Spurs were looking to acquire the services of Pienaar, and their boss, Redknapp, has finally confirmed these reports. This would also be one of Redknapp’s tactics to unsettle the player and his coach as he takes his team
to Everton next weekend for a Premier League game.
Harry was asked if he was looking to sign the player in January or would wait till the summer. He said, "If he doesn't sign a contract, he'll be a great free transfer for someone at the end of the year", at his pre-match press conference.
"He still belongs to Everton, so it's a difficult one. They are still trying to keep him. We'll wait and see what happens."
Harry Redknapp took over Tottenham 2 seasons ago at a time when the team was being threatened with relegation. Redknapp, also known as Harry Houddini, not only managed to keep them away from the dreaded zone but also finished in the top half. The very next
season, he made history with the Spurs and finished 4th to take them to their first UEFA Champion’s League this season. The Spurs are currently on 4th place, a point above http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, with 20 games of the season played.
