in to strengthen the squad.
Lambert said in an interview:
“We are going to try and bring in new lads to help and try and keep the feel-good factor that is around the club at the moment. I have to assess the players when I get in and see them. We will try to bring in lads to help them which any football club
needs.”
The 42-year-old admitted the previous season had been tough on Aston Villa, but he hoped to pull them out of their slump before the new season kicked off. Lambert was confident the side had the quality to recover in time for the new season and he revealed
he was determined to help them.
He revealed:
"I know last season was tough but the main thing was they stayed in the league which everyone at the club would have wanted them to do and I will do everything to try and help them.”
Since taking over Aston Villa, Lambert has been linked with bringing in Norwich City striker Grant Holt with him. The manager revealed he had not thought too much about signing Holt, but would consider the possibility especially since the striker had been
terrific for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Canaries-c38723 in the past season. There has been no formal offer for the player as yet.
Lambert confessed:
“Grant Holt was brilliant for me. In the three years I was there (at Norwich) he was a huge part of what happened at the club.”
