Aston Villa manager Peter Grant believes international break has aided squad fitness – EPL News

Aston Villa assistant manager Peter Grant has stated that the ongoing international break came at a perfect time for the Villans as it has aided squad fitness.
A number of Aston Villa first team players were injured or lacking match fitness prior to the international break which started on November 6.
The Villans influential striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-Hutton-c4253 both were also called in for duty despite lacking match fitness.
Alex McLeish’s assistant manager has hailed the determination and commitment shown by the trio despite not being fully fit, and has stated that all three aforementioned deserve some credit for showing extraordinary professionalism.
"We've got to give great credit to some of the boys like James, Emile and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244. There's been a few of them playing with injuries. But they've been so desperate to play the matches and that's been a big plus for us."
Grant has also bemoaned Aston Villa’s injury crisis since the start of the ongoing 2011/12 Barclays Premier league season. However, the assistant manager is hopeful that the fitness problems will end soon as he believes that the club is going to enter a
very tough period in the current campaign.
McLeish’s assistant has welcomed the ongoing international break as he feels that the current break from league matches will help the squad regain their fitness.
"Hopefully it's happened at the right time and we won't pick up any more injuries. Hopefully we can look after them during this period, get a few days training in and get them back out on the training pitch fully next week," Peter Grant concluded.
Aston Villa had a decent start to the current season as they have lost only two matches so far in this campaign. The Villa Park outfit is currently placed eighth in the League standings with 15 points to their name from 11 matches.
Alex McLeish’s men will resume their Premier League campaign against Tottenham Hotspur next Monday.
