Aston Villa midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Young-c6813 wants Champions League action – Premier League News
Aston Villa’s want away midfielder; Ashley Young has come forth and stated that he wishes to play in the Champions League someday. The attacker has been linked with a move away from the club for quite some time now and it seems like these comments made by
the player are just adding fuel to the fire and confirming his departure from Villa Park.
At the moment, the two teams that are being hailed as the favourites to land the player are http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Manchester United. Both the teams have been looking to capture the player, for at least a year now. However, it seems like one of the two might finally
get their hands on the player before the start of next seasons Premier League.
Young recently went ahead and made some comments, which nearly confirm his move away from Aston Villa.
The player is quoted to have said: "I have never doubted my ability"
"There will always be people who do and everybody is entitled to their opinion.
"But my opinion is that I can play in the biggest and best competitions.
"I always want to challenge myself. To challenge myself is to play in them big competitions - hopefully one day I will be able to do that."
The player then went on to drop a major hint as to what his preferred destination could be, as he followed up his initially comments by mentioning the Champions League final. The finals of the 2011 Champions League, took place between United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
United, also happen to be one of the prime candidates to landing Young.
The player when talking about the game, went on to state: "Of course Barcelona are the best team but, for Manchester United to get to the Champions League final as well, it must mean that we have got teams in this country that can match the best in Europe."
If two and two are put together, then it is safe to say that United are currently winning this race to land the player, for more reasons than one. Firstly, Liverpool aren’t playing in Europe for at least one more season, hence Young’s ambition to play in
the Champions League cannot be fulfilled by the team. On the other hand, United have proven to have a far better track record with English players, meaning the attacker might opt to make a move to Old Trafford, to try and develop and hone his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Skills-c40539 even further.
There have been no official statements released by either club regarding the players future, but, there is bound to be a response from either team within the coming weeks.
