Astrology favourite for Stobart Barristers Dee Stakes (Group 3) (Colts & Geldings)
A total of six runners have been attracted towards the Stobart Barristers Dee Stakes (Group 3) (Colts & Geldings) at Chester in England on Friday, May 11, 2012. A cash prize of £31,191 has been set for the winner of the class-1 event.
The going will be soft in the 1 mile, 2 furlong and 75 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 14:05 GMT. Following are the participants, who have line up for action at Chester: Astrology, Uriah Heep, Kingsdesire, Prince Alzain, Bonfire and Oxford Charley.
Out of the above mentioned runners, Prince Alzain and Bonfire might not be able to take part in the race. No final decision has been taken regarding their participation, but their respective trainers will clarify the situation before the start of the event.
At the moment, the bookmakers have shown full faith in the abilities of Astrology, as he has a very good record. His form would definitely encourage the punters to risk the maximum number of bets in his favour today.
The three-year-old colt has taken part in three races until now, winning one of them. In addition to that, he has also secured a couple of third place finishes, which means that he has never dropped out of top three.
The A. P. O'Brien’s trainee was pretty much impressive in his first ever outing, as he managed to win it comfortably by a couple of lengths. He was unable to repeat a similar show in his next two runs, but still managed to finish third in both of them.
Astrology will be partnered by J. P. O'Brien, who is a decent jockey and has won quite a few races at this level. His strike rate is also impressive, which means that he performs with a lot of consistency.
On the other hand, Kingsdesire will also be the one to watch out for in the race, as he has a 100 percent winning record. He has entered a couple of events and has been victorious in both of them.
However, the Marco Botti’s trainee will be up against some quality runners today, thus his skills will be put to a stern test. He will be ridden by veteran jockey, Jamie Spencer.
