  1. Tina's wrong, that doesn't help here. A light second is 300,000 km per second. So just convert km to miles by multiplying 300,000 by 0.621371192 . There you go. And it is about 186,000 miles per second.

  2. speed = distance / time

    you know the speed. you know the time. plug in the numbers and work out the distance.

  3. One light second is the distance the speed of light travels in 1 second.

    And the speed of light is 299792.458 km/s.

    D=VT where D is Distance, V is Velocity, and T is Time

    D=(299792.458km/s)*(1second)

    D=299792.458 km

  4. Think about it. A light second is the distance traveled by a ray of light in one second. Light travels at a speed of 3x10^8 meters per second. That means that in one second it travels 3x10^8 meters, or 3x10^5 kilometers, or 186 411.358 miles.

  5. light travels 300,000 kilometers per second.

    mile can be converted into kilometers by multiplyimg with 1.601

    Hope this along with Tina's answer will solve your problems!
