  1. There's always a place somewhere sometime on the earth that sees no moon and no sun, moon and no sun, sun and no moon, moon and sun. It all has to do with the planetary rotation and orbits. The moon orbits the earth, the earth rotates and orbits the sun.

  2. You're right, they get nothing.

Imagine nighttime, and the moon simply isn't up. That's exactly what they get.

  3. Well, you can see other stars and planet. It's not gonna be pitch black out there. But yes, some places will not get either moon and the sun sometimes within that 28 day moon cycle.

  4. If the moon is in the sky at the same time as the sun, it's that way for the whole world. During such times, nights are moonless.

  5. Just the same, sometimes it's night here (no sun) and the moon is in it's 'new' phase (we don't see it).

When we see the sun and moon during the day, later that night we have nothing but stars, just what they saw on the other side of the world and while we have the night without the moon, they see both the sun and moon.

When the moon is in the 'New' phase (between us and the sun) it rises and sets during the day.
