I think the Astros should have given up on this season a long time ago. They should have started selling some of their older players for younger and playing for draft picks. They won't beat out the Cubs Cards and Brewers.

Not gunna happen. I think they are pretty much already out of it and its to late. They just are not consistent enough for a playoff spot. Ther chances of winning the division are none and the top of the wildcard is ther division so unless they can conjure a miracle ther season is over.

Not very many stranger things have happened in this game than that. Especially with their "Hammer" Carlos Lee under-going what should essentially be season ending surgery on his broken finger. Even so playing .697 ball the rest of the year would be amazing but still wouldn't land them the Wild Card in my opinion. I think they have a chance to overtake the Cardinals if they fall out of the Wild Card race.

They already have 7 more wins than on this date last year.

But so do the Brewers, and the Cubs +9, Cards +11, Pirates +5, and Reds +3. So they seem to be in about the same boat overall as last year.

I have a goal of winning the lottery but some times goals are not reached.  I wish them nothing but the best of luck but I do not see them reaching their goal.

Cecil doesn't seem to have his head on straight anymore. Does he seriously think the Astros without Carlos Lee will go 30-13? The only thing stranger in baseball I've seen in my 15 years was the Mets collapse last year.

theres no way earlier in the season there was a chance how lance was playing earlier in the season but they weres going downhill from there and were losing games and now lost there chance at the division and playoffs, but i guess they can make it to 80 wins this year no higher than 83
