They have nobody to trade for him though. Their farm system is one of the weakest in all of baseball.

The team is going nowhere this year so why bring in a mediocre veteran? Now would be a great time to bring up the kids to see what they can do. It would cost less money plus the team could keep the few prospects that they have.
