Asus a7n8x wont stay on?

i have the board all set up and i'm running pc2100 ram and i turn it on and i dont get a beep it acts like it wants to boot then just turns off. what can i do ?

  1. Thats usually a symptom of over heating, check the cpu fan and make sure it is secure, and clean from dust.  If that isn't helping you might add some thermal paste in between the cpu fan and the cpu.

    Could be a faulty power supply as well... so thats what I would check If it doesn't seem to be a problem with the CPU fan.

    Beyond that, you may have a defective CPU.
