Asus new laptop

Question

Hi I have a brand new asus lap top. Sometimes when I click on something, the box will go inactive and the mouse will not work. it happens in word and the net. When I click on the box with the mouse pad the box goes inactive- sometimes when I press enter that will help. Can any one help me?
