  1. The 9800GTX is not power hungry. At max load, it requires ~160 watts; about 10 more than the 8800GTS. And to answer your question, get the Asus; save the extra $60. An extra 22MHz clock speed on the XFX means nothing in terms of performance.

  2. plz don't get a 9800gtx, they're reallllyyy power hungry cuz i have one. one of my friends have a 4850 and they beat the 9800gt by a few frames when aa and af are turned on. just try to get a 4850 with an aftermarket cooler. but if you ahve the money to spend then the 4870 is the logical choice (btw, don't buy from newegg, they rip ppl off. buy from ncixus.com they have lower prices, better service, and pricematching system that rocks)

  3. There isn't really a difference since nVidia supplies both ASUS and XFX with the GPU chip.

Some manufactures such as BFG and eVGA will slightly overclock the chip for better performance, and call it the "superclocked" version, and add $20 to the price.

Looks like the XFX is the "black edition," and it has some higher core and memory clock speeds.

The 9800gtx+ sits between the 4850 and 4870 in terms of performance.
