Asus power supply problems

hiya, thanks for the follow up.
Nope initial 'boot up' screen opens up as normal, then windows (XP) screen starts and then the machine dies...
The first time i thought all was ok.. sigh..

Am i right in assuming the new 650w supply should not make a difference? as the original was only 350w. It should just provide more capacity i think and not affect the boot up of the CPU.?
