1. Call each of the companys tech support , to see if you can reach a real person!

Have you looked at a IBM ThinkPad? I think they are the only ones that have a Linux logo. You might just fedup with MS vista, and want a choice of operating system.

BTW look for more than 2 usb ports

  2. OK if you truly do not want to regret it the rest of your life avoid the compaq like it was the plague. Asus and Toshiba have pretty good reputations, but you need to find one that uses a discrete graphics chipset instead of an integrated one, which means that you will be getting a higher end laptop which costs a little more money. Also the amount of RAM is very important and you want to avoid shared video memory if you are going to play games on your new laptop. Anyway have a good time finding your next computer...

  3. OMGOMGOMGSSSSPPPPAAAAZZZZ...

in the help files installed with a Compaq, which REPLACE any occassionally-useful Windows help files, it says things like...

-Sit in a comfortable position. But make sure it is one of the following uncomfortable positions [positions described]. Do not use the computer for more then 30 seconds at a time to avoid injury.

-Computers can make you go blind. Don't use computers.

-To create a document, here si a very detailed description of how to go to Start > Programs > Microsoft Word. Next, hit the keys which correspon to the letters you want to type. For example, if you want to type the word "tree", hit the key which has a 't' on it, then hit the key which has an 'r' on it, and then hit the key which has an 'e' on it two times. You will also need to hit the spacebar if you want to type more words [description of spacear].

YOU CALL YOURSELF A GAMER SHAME, SHAME ON YOU!

So, you decide, between "Compaq" or "other"...

and if you're a PC gamer get Alienware. Which is patr of Dell. Don't get HP or Sony VAIO either. HP and Compaq is now the same company (which makes sense as they were the two worst unless you count Acer as a "company"), they also make VooDoo PC now so I woudln't nessecerily trust them although they were simply "acquired" so they may work. Toshiba should be alright if you get a D-Link or Linksys card rather then what comes with it, not GREAT the one I had but they may have ones with better speces. Sony VAIO is horrible for the amount of crashes and system errors, Dell's still good and they also manufacture Alienware, but if you're rich but not REALLY rich Dell works fine for lac of visual effect. There's one other gaming PC company but I forget what it's called - I'm sure you can find an ad or two in GI.

    COMPAQ LOLOLOLOL...
