I counted today (which was NOT easy) and he has 16. 8 on top, 8 on bottom. He's been showing signs of teething lately and I'm wondering how many he's supposed have by now?

  1. There's no right answer to how many teeth he should have because all children get their teeth at a different pace.  Some kids get their first tooth around 6 months, others get the first one after their birthday.  The most important thing is that the teeth are coming in at a steady pace and are healthy.  My daughter also had 16 teeth at that age.  My son, who will be 16 months in a few weeks, has only 10 teeth right now.  :)

  2. Every kid is different my 16 month old has 8 teeth 4 top and 3 bottom but my niece was only getting her first one at this time.

  3. My 16 month old only has 4 teeth.  2 on top and 2 on bottom.  I don't think there is a certain number they have to have at that age.

  4. i dont think there is a set number for a set age. i know kids that got 8 teeth before they were 1, and my daughter barley had 4 by her 1 st bday. teeth come when they want too, dont worry im sure its fine that he has that many. i think my daughter has about 16 (im counting from memory so she could have more or less) and she will be two next month, but i think its fine for ur son to have that many

  5. I'm not sure of the answer to how many they SHOULD have, but I know that my 21 month old just broke through 8 teeth in the last 3 months.  He had 8 (his four front on top and bottom) and then he got his four "I" teeth and the four behind those all at the same time.  So, at 21 months (only five month older than your baby) he has 16 teeth. Good luck, teething is hard on baby and mommy.  :O)
