  1. if you are a retiree i would think to live a contented life you will need about 250,00 dollars for a starters and then about 5,000 dolllars montly. sorry that just an estimate of course everything depends on the kind of lifestyle you would like to live on.

  2. Difficult question depends on what you want to do - but maybe a £100 per week.

  3. enough to survive the first couple of weeks and get a job whilst you are there so not much really.

  4. Depends really what your circumstances are ..............

most sell up in the Uk and buy here but then realise that contrary to what your told there is not really a lot of work and what there is bar work etc etc is very low paid.

also like renting is around 600 euros per month and that is limited to how long term as the person says they get more for holiday weeks.

If your a builder there is still work available but you now have every do it yourself professing to be a builder so jobs are hard to find even there the builders are fighting over every little snippet for work and they are mainly attached to the estate agents who get a slice of the action.

go to these websites and they should help to use go on the message board and leave a question and ill guarantee youll get someone who has already done what you want to do.

BUT DO YOUR HOMEWORK ITS NOT AS EASY AS YOUR LED TO BELIEVE THERE IS A LOT THAT CAN GO WRONG.

to ruin your dream!!!!!! good luck.

  5. It depends on where you want to go to live in Spain, how much money you have saved and what you want to do here.

600$ a month for a flat in the south of the country or some cities may be ok, not enough in Barcelona, Madrid or any other big city (unless you want to share a flat).

Wages in Spain are not too high, depends on what you work on, according to infojobs one of the most important websites if you want to find a job states that the average wage of all the offers they have published is 20.260 € a year (26.000$ aprox)...a little bit disappointing!

  6. As most other people have said it depends on the lifestyle you want to lead.

If you want to work for yourself there are many opportunities, but letting people know you are there and how good you are takes time.

If you need to work for some one else then I would say your opportunities are limited.

Have a look at the Sur in English, it is the most widely read English newspaper on the Costa Del Sol and will give you a guide for the prices of houses to rent or buy.

    Jobs available.

Classifieds to see what services are being offered and much more.

I  would suggest a holiday first in whatever area appeals to you. That way you can get a feel for the place and speak to the locals. IF you need more detailed info email me at yahoo

  7. Depends on what kind of life you want brother. Personally I wouldn't attempt it with less than $500,000. Assuming you plan to work.

  8. Lots. If you are asking the question, then probably more than you have.

  9. Depends, do you plan to retire early, or are you going to keep working?

  10. £40k plus house / flat money, keep your state pension running here by dd, don't buy private pension there.where ever you get house / flat make sure its free hold, that includes land, get legal papers for this before parting with any money

  11. I have lived there for 10 yrs. If you want to live in a coastal resort, renting an apartment is approx 600 euros per month, you need 1 month up front plus 1 month bond. Beware alot of rentals are for 10 months only, they can get 500euros a week for your apartment in july and august!!!! Jobs are seasonal, bar, resturant etc. The ex-pats are desperate for plumbers, electricians, mechanics, I know I can never find one!!!! I am a dog groomer with a salon, my feet dont touch the ground. My son has a satelite tv business, he is doing well. Find something that is needed, there are too many bars and I have seen them come and seen them go. Good luck, the life here is great, sun sand and skiing up the road !!!!
