  1. Your age and lack of periods do not bode well to be able to use your own eggs . . . but we truly cannot answer this question.  You need to see a fertility specialist and have a bloodtest to check FSH levels.  You may want to consider using donor eggs.

Here is a good link for you:

    Good luck!

  2. There is a possibility, however the chances are slim due to your lack of periods.  When your periods begin to cease, your body stops producing viable eggs which can be used for the IVF process.  Now, there is a possibility of using donor eggs for IVF, but the success also depends on the health of your body as well.  If this is something that you would really like to pursue, you should speak with a fertility specialist so that he/she can answer all your questions and provide you with the possible options available to you.  Best of LUCK

  3. The possibility is very unlikely to conceive using your own eggs at your age.  I have found some research that indicates it is possible though.

There is a less than 1 percent chance of conceiving after 45.  Women over 45 have miscarriages in more than 50 percent of pregnancies.  One in 11 pregnancies are chromosomally trisomy 21 (down's syndrome).  1 in 7 have chromosome problems.  Women over 40 have 90 percent abnormal eggs.

If you are serious about becoming a mother, act quickly and aggressively.  Seek the best RE you can find, and see if you are a candidate for IVF.  There is a test that can be done to see what your egg quality is and what amount of eggs you have left.  These are the statistics it is not my opinion.  Women who are over 40 usually are using a donor egg, also in the statistics.  Also it is common for women that have money to freeze there eggs when they are younger only to use the eggs when they are older.  Celine Deon has talked openly about doing so.  This question clearly states using her OWN egg, not harvested, but a 50 year old egg.  Not possible.  And Brooke Shields Marcia Cross and Halle Berry are barely 40, much different than age 50.  I encourage the thumbs down brigade to do a little research, click on the site that I have here and read.  From every over 40 site I have found, they don't even have IVF statistics passed the age of 43, and it openly says that most of these women are using donor eggs.

Again the risks of down syndrome increase as you age.  I overcame tremendous obstacles to conceive, and stay pregnant, and have 3 beautiful children.  Baby dust to all!

  4. yes you can concive  with IVF using your eggs   that is if you have any egg left,  usualy ater yu stop haveing period  you dont have any usable eggs

  5. Adrienne Barbeau, an actress was 50 when she conceived twins using IVF with her own eggs.  If you have the money, go for it.

To the ignorant one who said women over 40 have 90 percent abnormal eggs, NO, not true.  If it were, then why is it so many women over 40 have healthy babies.  Younger women, from what I read, are giving birth to downs syndrome children more than older women.

I've read many a women having babies after 45.  Every women is an individual.  You can't judge her fertility by her chronological age. And if women over 40 listened to you and the likes of you, women like Marcia Cross, Adrienne Barbeau, Brooke Shields, Halle Berry, etc. would not have their babies in their arms!!

  6. Yes it's possible, but is it probable... not for most women at 50.  However, the best thing to do is see an RE for consultation to review your specific situation.  Having 2 periods a year is probably pointing to being in menopause, so if you are seriously considering pregnancy, act quickly.  At this point, every month counts.

Good luck, I hope you get the answer you're looking for.
