I run about 2 -3 times a week for 2 miles and was just wondering how fast I should be for my age. I had bypass and two strokes 10 years ago but have been running on a fairly regular basis for 20 years

  1. I run on the street which is not a very good surface for anyone let alone a 64yo. So I go out about 4am before the traffic starts, after an hour of doing what I have to do and stretch exercises. I go 800m out and come home the same journey - not all flat territory either. I won't go if the surface has been dampened by rain. Best time so far is 11.46.   Back 48 years ago at High School it was about 5.20. Just haven't had the time to persue this wonderful sport since those days, until about 5 months ago when I commenced a walking programme and exercises.
