Which is the name of the course I would be doing? (I want to be a primary teacher or study french and something else, I think it'll be about 3 years?

  1. talk to your career guidance officer at school.  you seem confused and unsure of what you want to do.

You need to look at Undergraduate degree courses (Batchelors of Education) or diplomas - Postgraduate courses are for those who have already done a degree.  Degree courses are mostly 3 years but you will get the odd one that is 4 years, at the University of Limerick their degrees are 4 years because 1 year is spent off campus either working or studying abroad.  

    If you look at the websites for Mary Immaculate College, Limerick & St Patrick's College in Dublin, they'll tell you what subjects you need to do to get on the course.

    I think there is a third place offering Primary School teaching but I can't remember what it is

    If there's a career guidance teacher at your school, you should have a word with them or if there's a teacher you get on well with, they may be able to advise what you need to do
