At NYMEX ???

at NYMEX i see each person hold five phones in his head and has a notebook , and shauting for something ... what are they basiclly doing ... ???

These are specialists market makers and they are trading stocks. They are getting orders from different sources. Every stock on the NYSE is handled by a specific specialist, which is the sole authority to trade that stock.

Nasdaq has no specialist system; its transactions are electronic; they are not floor traded.
