I've just finished my three day job training at Tim Hortons, which was seven hours a day and paid 7.75$ each hour. Without any tax effects, I would've made 162.75$, but am I going to loose any of that because of taxes? I'm 18 years old and am going into University in September.

  1. Yes, you will lose $$ to taxes.

Payroll is calculated on a paycheck by paycheck basis, extending your earns to a full year.  (Even if you only are planning to work for a few months).

When you file your return in April you will get back any over contributionns

  2. Yes they will take off taxes but you will actually be reimbursed for these when you file your income tax.  I know it sucks but that's our government for you.  Good luck with University.
