  1. I don't have a baby, and you should ask a professional. Go to the doctor, ore even the pharmacy

  2. My little girl didn'tt start cereal till 6 months. Our doctor follows the new rules of....

    1st: Rice Cereal

    2nd: Oatmeal

    3rd: Barley

    4th: Orange veggies

    5th: Green veggies

    6th: Other

  3. With my 1st, I started rice cereal at 5 1/2 months.  My son is 4 months and I will probably start rice cereal when he's showing signs he's ready and needs more to satisfy his hunger than breastmilk which will probably be around 5-6 months.  After I knew my 1st could handle the rice cereal I started fruits and veggies, one at a time for a week separately.

  4. 3.5 months we started rice cereal. Then a few fruits. He was just so hungry, I wasn't making enough breast milk and he wouldn't take formula. So I started thickening my breast milk with rice cereal and he took to that right away. By 4 months he was eating all kinds of single fruits and veggies.

  5. both of mine was 13 weeks old

  6. Both started at 4 months, one 16 weeks, one 17 weeks. On the health visitors advice, they were big hungry boys.

  7. Around 6 months I believe is when they recommend the introduction of solids, some of mine were a bit earlier, depending on how much they were eating and how often I was breastfeeding.

  8. rice cereal at 5 months...only a bit and then freshly cooked and well blended veggies and fruit at 6 -7 months..no jars they taste horrid.

  9. My first daughter wasn't ready until 10 months.  Her stomach was too sensitive, and it made her sick.  After that, she was able to eat anything!  The absolute earliest to try solids is 6 months, according to the medical associations.  Any advice to the contrary is outdated!!!

Health experts and breastfeeding experts agree that it's best to wait until your baby is around six months old before offering solid foods. There has been a large amount of research on this in the recent past, and most health organizations have updated their recommendations to agree with current research. Unfortunately, many health care providers are not up to date in what they're telling parents, and many, many books are not up to date.

The following organizations recommend that all babies be exclusively breastfed (no cereal, juice or any other foods) for the first 6 months of life (not the first 4-6 months):

    World Health Organization

    UNICEF

US Department of Health & Human Services

    American Academy of Pediatrics

    American Academy of Family Physicians

    American Dietetic Association

Australian National Health and Medical Research Council

Royal Australian College of General Practitioners

    Health Canada

Most babies will become developmentally and physiologically ready to eat solids by 6-9 months of age. For some babies, delaying solids longer than six months can be a good thing; for example, some doctors may recommend delaying solids for 12 months if there is a family history of allergies.

  10. Around the 14 weeks stage , you will get to know when your baby isn`t being satisfied with milk alone .

  11. About 18 weeks  Rice cereal first, then slowly move on to single pureed veggies, then combine two or three veggies, then move on to fruits.  Takes a few weeks!  Good luck!

  12. im not a mum yet but i had alot to do with my brother and he was about 4months when he started on baby rice and then it was soon after this he started on the jars just remember that when you start yours on solids that you should only introduce 1 new food about every week as this will give chance for any allergies to come out so you know exactly which food it is.

    example.

week 1 - start on plain baby rice

week 2 - still use the baby rice but introduce another flavour for one meal

week 3 - you can then introduce another flavour on top of the other 2

i would always stick to this methood as if baby has any food allergies it is really easy to detect which one it is also it is very rare for allegies just do what your best at by being a mum and using comon sense.

    good luck

  13. just before he turned 4 months, I really didnt want to start so soon but he had massive problems with formula and it was my only option as he was so hungry.

  14. 6months for both. The jars etc say "suitable from 4-6mths" but the government health board say they do not need anything other than their usual milk until 6months. Weaning too early can cause alleries, intollerances etc

  15. At about the 6 month stage, again all babies differ. They will let you know.

  16. Most doctors say cereal at 3 months, simple fruits by 4 months. My great grandfather fed me mashed potatoes and gravy at Thanksgiving (US) and I was only a week old. My mom always told me if they are hungry feed them. I started giving my son cereal at 3 weeks, only way he would lay off my chest for more than an hour, he had difficulty using a bottle due to a lack of oral muscle development.

  17. Do what you think is right. You don't need to see a health vistor. They just give you loads of c**p anyway!

I started giving my baby solids at 8 weeks as in rusks with milk and porridge. I then put her onto jars a month later now she can't get enough.

I do like to make her food though. At least I know what is in it.

    xx

  18. my first daughter was about 5 months when we started on her solids. My second daughter was a little younger as she was lactose intolerant and the baby milk that is lactose free just didn't seems to be satisfying her the same. I couldn't give her baby food though i had to make soup and stuff because of her intolerance.
