It is a good restaurant and the 5 of us will be ordering the Tasting Menu. The Chef is also the owner of the restaurant.

  1. as a chef i understand the pride involved in preparing a meal for a group

    especially a chefs table

usually as a customer in this positon i would tip according to what ive learned and how interactive the chef has made the affair to be

if you are allowing the chef to pair wines to the courses  then   listen closely

when your finished  offer your chef a gift of a bottle of wine that you know he might enjoy as a gratuity with a little cash

now if you are having a price fixed dinnier  ask if the tip is include

over all if you are  very pleased with your experience  make the chef very pleased  with your financial gesture

it also guarantees  the best in the future

    good luck
