  1. Marinas normally will not quote price over VHF radio as that frequency is intended for "noncommercial use." Best to call on a cellphone if you want pricing. There are many cruising guides that give this sort of information.


  2. PB, at marinas they usually have a transit slip or dock. They usually charge by the foot for the length of your boat. They are commercial companies and are individually owned, so the price varies from place to place. Most places have radios so you can radio or call ahead for availability, especially in the inter-coastal waterway.

  3. Ummmmmmm, please don't drop anchor at the dock, they will think you are land lubber.

    Depends on the marina. Busy marinas will require reservations, quiet marinas, you may just be able to pull in and find a slip, grab a buoy, or drop your hook.

    Call ahead and find out how many spots might be available.
