At airports, what happens to....?

All our cosmetics,shampoos,shaving foam,razors,umbrellas etc that aren't permitted and have to be thrown in the designated bin. do they go to charity or do staff keep them or what?

Not sure anyone would want your half used tube of toothpaste.

They throw them away because they could be contaminated.

yep they get thrown out if there for the carry-ons and they don't fit the 3oz. rule. Otherwise I would pack the bigger bottles in your other suite case and you then just notify them that you have it with you in your other bag. and they check it to make sure it's not harmful.
