How many countries are there now on Earth?

Most people say that there are 195 countries on Earth right now.

Many people who say 192 are saying this because the U.N officially has 192 members but the Vatican and Kosovo are not part of this organization, so it's not 192.

The U.S state department claims that there are 194 sovereign states around the world, but that all depends on U.S politics.

Now the thing is the U.S state department does not count one place in the world...

Taiwan.

But Taiwan should be considered a country, it used to be part of the U.N, then the People's Republic of China has taken its place.

So it depends on whether you think Taiwan should be a country,( I do, but that's just my opinion) or you don't.

But you should have a good reason not to.

It's between 194 and 195, (I say 195).
