I work really hard some days and i get nothing for it. I have to pay 8 percent taxes on alcoholic beverages. We dont make that much an hour to make it. I get stiffed all the time for pops and coffee. You are sitting there and i am bringing you a drink. most dont even say thank you.

  1. Attitude helps.  Ask the lead server at your establishment how they make more in tips.

  2. perhaps they are playing the penny/nickel machines because they just got murders at the 1/5 dollar machines and are on their last legs, it would seem likely that you would see a higher concentration of people in this predicament at a machine that operates the lowest denomination of coin.

people at higher denomination coin machines obviously still have hundreds of dollars of cash still available, while they may only have as little as 5 or 10

  3. not really enough money wagered on those slots. Kinda like a diner waitress who is serving cups of coffee and a donut getting a 35 cent tip on a 1.50 bill. More the check higher the tip. Higher the game limits higher the tips.

  4. That they are playing the penny/nickle machines should give you the answer right there. They are cheeeeaaaaap.

  5. I don't think it has anything to do with the denomination of the machine, but with how rude some people really are.   I play nickels and pennies and I tip the beverage server very well...keeps him/her coming back to check on me.  I understand what you are going though, I see people near me stiff the beverage person all the time...and you are right, some never say thank you.  Maybe you can put a small card (no bigger than a business card) that says..."tips are welcomed and appreciated."  Good luck!
