At fogland beach I came across something in the water , it looked like green grapes

I think maybe they were eggs of some sort, but any ideas what kind, they were like green grapes in the water and completely clear when out of it, and jelly like.

Jellyfish. were they breakable, or more like hard glass??

It was probably an algae called Nostoc. This algae creates green, jelly balls in water.  You can keep them as pets in a jar as long as you keep the water clean.
