hey!

okay, so i have looked at numerous websites on the internet on how to measure your bra size. i took my band measurement which was 33", then added 5 to give me 38" band size. then i measured my breast size which was also 38", which would make me a 38AA. this makes no sense at all because i am fitting snuggly into a C cup.. can someone please tell what i am doing wrong!?!?

ps. dont tell me to go in for a fitting at Victoria Secret either

thanks!! xoxoxo

  1. Don't ever ever EVER do the 'add 5in' thing - utter rubbish, and as you've seen it leaves you with a band too big and cup too small. You're actually not meant to add anything.

Because your under bust is an odd number, obviously you need to add 1in to get the band size. This is 34. Now, the difference between 38 and 34 is 4 - so you're roughly a 34D. I say roughly because, as you've found out, measuring isn't very accurate. It should be used as a guide. So, try on a 34D. Check the band (if you can pull it further than 2in away from your body, it's too big) and check the cups. Try sizes up/down according to how they fit. Many places like VS basically tell you that whatever your measurements are, that's your size. This is completely wrong. If I followed what they say, I'd still be squeezing myself into a 32C (actually a 28F). These websites should help you see if a bra fits:

  2. i dunno it tells me im a 32AAA im really a 34B

  3. That's because that method doesn't work. Your band size should be roughly equal to your underbust measurement, and if cup size is the difference between the two, if the band is too big the cup is going to be too small. You sound like you need 34D. What band size are you currently wearing, as a 38C is bigger than a 36C or 34C?
