At how old do you think a child could go from breastfeeding to regular sippy cups?

I want to breast-feed my children, at least for the first year. But I was thinking I might have to longer, because they would be too young to learn to drink out of a regular sippy cup at 1 yr. (I don't' have any kids yet, just thinking ahead). I know it's a possibility to breast feed for years, but I wouldn't want to more than a couple years. So at what age do you think I could successfully go from breast to cup? I really think it would be difficult to go to breast, to bottle (even with breast milk) and then have to ween off of bottle as well. What do you experienced parents think?

  1. a baby can start on a sippy at 6-7 months, so weaning from the breast to a cup is very doable. There is no harm in skipping bottles, and its great that you plan to nurse to one year and beyond.

  2. go from breast to sippy cup at one year, they are not too young at the age. Good Luck with your future kids :D

  3. My sister breastfeed her two girls for a year and at 6 months she had them drinking water from a cup......Too easy good luck
