Question:

At least 3 energy transformations and 1 energy transference in a model?

For a projects any ideas? The model has to be able to be carried by a person and preferable made with things from around the house.........

  1. Make a spiral out of paper as shown in the link in the reference. Suspend it from a thread above a burning candle.

    The chemical energy of the candle is transformed into heat energy (and light). The heat of the flame is transferred to the air by conduction. The warm air rises. (Transference by convection.)  Heat energy has been transformed into mechanical energy. The rising air turns the spiral transferring the mechanical energy of the moving air into the mechanical energy of the spinning spiral.

    There are three transformations of energy ; chemical to light, chemical to heat and heat to mechanical. There are three transferences of energy; heat by conduction, heat by convection and mechanical motion of the air to mechanical motion of the spiral.

    There are other possibilities listed at the site refered.

    Or you could just demonstrate a lava lamp.
