  1. You could use a metal wood bat. There pretty sick I hit with one the other day. Here's the link.

  2. dont worry now some high schools are actually making it mandatory to use wood bats

  3. At most high schools you can use a wooden bats. But it depends on your district and the NFHS. But its not to your advantage to use one.

One of the reasons wooden bats aren't used in high school is for safety and cost. At that level, most hitters aren't good enough to use a wooden bat properly. Meaning that wooden bats could break and endanger players.

To your advantage, I would most definitely use a metal bat. They have a bigger sweet spot and you can hit further. If you don't hit a wooden bat in the right spot it won't go far and could break (for example if you got jammed). If you get jammed with a metal bat you can still fight it off and get away with a good hit. If the MLB used metal bats people would honestly get killed and there would be double or triple the amount of homeruns.

They are currently thinking about making college players use wooden bats because college players level of play has gone up much recently. But one of the main reasons they are not is becasue of cost. Metal bats do and can break but not nearly as often.

Using a wooden bat for practice is good though because it can fine tune your swing and helps create more power because they are usually heavier.  Instead of using a wooden bat you can use a composite bat. Its like a wooden bat but doesn't break nearly as often. Composite bats are used more often for training and pratice because they don't break often.

I've attached some links on composite bats and wooden vs. metal bats. Good luck and keep playing.

  4. yea.. in my league they let you

  5. NHFS rules ALWAYS allow for wood bats to be used.

That decision depends on your school's coach; many prefer that you use metal.

New York City, among other places, has prohibited non-wood bats in high-school games, so wood is the only option there.

  6. Usually but why. metal bats allow you to hit the abll farther and harder

  7. Check with your high school baseball coach. He'll probably know.
