You might also look in some home magazines or online to get a feel for the different ways people transition from one product to the other.

Where the carpet and tile meet you're going to put a transition in. You can use a wood transition or a metal transition. I suggest going to Lowe's or an independent store that sales nothing but tile and see what kind of transitions that have there. You may pay a little more money at stores like that but sometimes it is well worth it.
