okay i am buying the iphone and i have a blackjack 2 and i want to give that phone to my little brother(he's 15) and he has a regular samsung a737phone with no data plan so my question is can i give my blackjack and he puts his sim card in it and still have service without the data plan thnx how ever answers quick gets 10points but with a reasonable answer

if his sim has no data plan on it, then he can simply stick it in and use his current plan.

The plan (voice, data, phone number) is directly tied to the account that is associated with the SIM card.  If you remove your SIM card and move it to your new iPhone, your plan goes with it.  This means that you don't have to worry about him using a data plan that counts against you.

Keep in mind though that some stuff will stay on the phone, even without your SIM card in it. For example, most phone numbers, old text messages, etc.  To get rid of this data, you'll need to reset the phone.
