At&t palm centro and instant messenger question?

I have a Family Talk Group Unlimited Text plan only. I opted out of the internet plan. I want to clarify whether or not I will be charged for internet use if I use the messengers (AOL, Windows, Yahoo)? I read somewhere that these messenger services are free of charge but want to make sure that includes no internet data transfer fees or internet usage fees.

If you have not paid for internet time/usage, you will be charged. When you use the messengers, each message you write and is written to you will be classified as 1 txt message, but if you have Unlimited Text, you will not be charged by the "IM" messages.
