I have been watching the french open and was wondering if there is a rule or reason why the players have worn the the same clothes all week.

  1. I think that many players have a contract with their companies to wear a certain type of clothes....and, if not, they probably wear the same style of clothes, but it's a duplicate outfit.  I would do the same if the clothes were comfortable to play in.  For example, the same style of shorts/shirt.

  2. I imagine they have several outfits of the same kind because you can get very grubby playing on clay courts.  It is good to see the young players looking so glamorous I only wish the men would look a bit more wholesome in particular Nadal with his long hair and pirate trousers Ugh

  3. i dont think they wear the same thing.... but players do have to wear the same thing for THEMSELVES everyday cuz they are sponsored. u mean wimbledon? they all have to wear white

  4. There's no rule about it, but a lot of players apparently plan to wear the same outfit during an entire tournament, though it's not the same pieces of clothing exactly.  I'm sure they wear a new one every time they play, just in the same style and color.  Their clothing company probably has a lot of input too I would imagine, like in Sharapova's case, in which she wears a brand new look every grand slam tournament (maybe even every tournament), essentially debuting it for Nike, who will then sell it to the mass market later on in the year.  When she won the U.S. Open in 2006, she actually had two brand new looks that she debuted, one for day and one for evening.
