  1. Idaho doesn't require any notice or reporting, so yes, you would basically have your dad purchase a curriculum and at your age you could complete much of your work independently.  Here are some programs you may want to consider:

You could also try some other methods, but those may initially require more guidance from your dad.

I would also suggest you get involved in a local support group or other outside activities.  Here are some ideas:

    Good luck!

  2. How can you teach yourself?  You have to know more than the person you are teaching to teach yourself.

Have you looked into maybe online schools?  I know colleges have correspondence courses that are online.

  3. Regardless of where you live, your parents are legally responsible. They may leave your education in your hands (often called "unschooling"), but they are considered responsible and are the ones who have to approve and file any necessary documents.

  4. As long as your parents OK it then of course you can. However talented the teacher it's always the student who does the learning. If you can read and write then you can learn just about anything if you're motivated. What's really great is if you know what you want to be in life you can really focus on what you need to achieve that.

  5. yea but i started at 15

  6. I basicly do it but it is good to have a adult around to check your work and to make sure you don't cheat or slack off.

  7. Well there is this Program called K12 and its completely FREE, they send you textbooks, workbooks, science labs and everything. Its on line and you have a teacher online. It doesnt take alot of time and if you need help you can just ask your teacher.

    For more information go to

  8. I'm pretty sure you can home-school yourself. =)

I homescool, and for me you atleast have to have a parent/guardian to put a signature on every assignment you submit.

In some schools that you can homeschool through, they have a number you can call and an e-mail address so you can contact your teacher(s) if you need any help.

    Good luck!

  9. Here are the "laws" :-)

If you are a very self motivated person, this might work for you.

However, you should have an older person around sometimes to help you check your work or help you if you get stuck.

    Good Luck :-)

  10. I am in Wisconsin, so I don't know the laws where you are but homeschooling is legal in all states if you follow the rules.  As far as homeschooling yourself, the answer is no-sort of.  Your parent or guardian must enroll you in yuour home school, and order the curriculum they choose.   Most curriculum is in the form of workbooks though that explain your lessons.  It is good to have a parent or guradian to help you if you get stuck though.  There are also many excellent virtual schools but many are very pricey and not many for high school which is just around the corner for you.  I am passionate about the value of home schooling and hope you succeed.
