  1. This is a good question.  My belief is that nothing will change.  They will continue to allow illegals in our country to steal our jobs, and commit crimes against Americans just as they have for ever.  The only way to stop the problem is to keep all immigrants out unless they have the paperwork.  No visits, family, job, whatever reason they have to get in, unless they are legal immigrants.  if not the same thing will continue.  They will get in on some excuse, and before you know it they will have your job, because they can afford to work for cheap.

  2. Republicans should love this Ronald Reagan proposal.

  3. I used to feel differently about "illegals" until I met some.  I now realize that those that we brand with this somewhat degrading name are actually holding this country together.  At this point, some of the hardest-working and most talented people that I know are "illegals".  Their legal status does not mean that they are bad people.  The tangled web of regulations and hefty fees associated with legal immigration have left many people out in the cold.

I believe that we all suffer for it; we need these people.  It needs to become easier for people to legally immigrate.  Basically, the only reason that someone should be denied legal status if he/she is a security threat or criminal (e.g. someone associated with terrorist groups or illegal arms dealings) That way the whole focus of Homeland Security can shift towards keeping us secure instead of some imagined threat that jobs are being stolen.  The fact is that the economy has never been seen to improve when immigration laws are tightened.  It just doesn't work that way!

So, in more direct answer to your question, I hope that all current "illegals" are subjected to criminal/terrorist background checks and made legal if they pass, no other questions asked.

  4. McCain is from Az, he loves the illegals and will do whatever he can for them. Obama will because he is a globalist, and does not see borders.

Hopefully someone will take away the incentive they have to come here, and not just throw their hands up and say there is nothing we can do.

Ron Paul had real solutions, too bad he is out of hte race:

    Border Security and Immigration Reform

The talk must stop. We must secure our borders now. A nation without secure borders is no nation at all. It makes no sense to fight terrorists abroad when our own front door is left unlocked. This is my six point plan:

        * Physically secure our borders and coastlines. We must do whatever it takes to control entry into our country before we undertake complicated immigration reform proposals.

        * Enforce visa rules.  Immigration officials must track visa holders and deport anyone who overstays their visa or otherwise violates U.S. law.  This is especially important when we recall that a number of 9/11 terrorists had expired visas.

        * No amnesty.  Estimates suggest that 10 to 20 million people are in our country illegally. That’s a lot of people to reward for breaking our laws.

        * No welfare for illegal aliens.  Americans have welcomed immigrants who seek opportunity, work hard, and play by the rules.  But taxpayers should not pay for illegal immigrants who use hospitals, clinics, schools, roads, and social services.

        * End birthright citizenship.  As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the incentive to enter the U.S. illegally will remain strong.

        * Pass true immigration reform.  The current system is incoherent and unfair.  But current reform proposals would allow up to 60 million more immigrants into our country, according to the Heritage Foundation.  This is insanity.  Legal immigrants from all countries should face the same rules and waiting periods.

  5. What is wrong with illegal immigrants?  They are humanbeings that are looking for a better life for them and their family.  It's not their fault that our country will not allow them to become legal.

  6. It does not matter, Congress will not allow amnesty, Many Americans call e-mail and fax their reps everyday to make sure this does not happen!!! Both presidents can try but it will never succeed!!

  7. look at the big picture,,   the nobs say,,   its ok they say,,,, its an easy way in my opinion to keep basic wage to a minimum, by bringing in illegals or even legals,  which have been supressed most of their natural existance, which i think personally.  i believe supression is the only key in my belief that stabilises not only regional, but to sustian growth in both our ,yor and wartorn countrys.

  8. No,the president can't simply make them legal on his own.

  9. LOL, you actually believe politicians.

Remember what happened when they tried to sneak Amnesty in the Iraq war spending bill, it crashed and burned.

Americans are too smart ot allow Amnesty to happen, and the president can make all the promises in the world, but at the end of the day, he has no power to make illegals legal. It's called pandering for the Hispanic/Latino vote.

  10. You may as well give up on that.  Until some radical muslim walks across the border and blows themselves up in a mall in LA, neither of these guys will do anything about illegal immigration.
