..... I enter it into the FMC? Normally, when your MSA is a NDB or VOR, you just go to the FIX page, enter the NDB or VOR and make a circle of 25 NM around them. But how do I enter a ARP?

  1. Your fmc should allow you to set msa using the airport as the fix

  2. Use the airport's identifier as your fix point, ARP stand for Airport Reference Point, so its the same as the lat/long.

Honestly though, a MSA doesnt really do you much good.  I'd save the clutter on my screen and just eliminate this step.  At no point should you ever be lost enough that a MSA even enters into your line of thinking.  If you are flying something with a FMS, you should have enough technical knowledge to know how do go RNAV direct to one of these points.  Especially since its a RNAV SID.

  3. use lat/long
